I am glad Pedro is feeling better.
but I am sorry to hear this:
Carlos Beltran left Friday’s game against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley
Field in the sixth inning with soreness in his right knee and is now
questionable to play on Saturday.
Beltran said he hurt his knee while running to cut off a Derrek Lee double in the first inning.
I hope he is back soon.
I know I’m a little late!
I was disappointed to see the NL lose the game, but enjoyed the Mets’ performances. Beltran had the MVP in my opinion and then in the last inning got on base bringing hope back for the win and his MVP.
What a blast watching David Wright in the Home Run Derby, too!
While I am disappointed that Reyes will not be playing (or Glavine or Pedro), I am still pumped that three Mets will be playing tomorrow! David Wright points out on his blog that the last time this happened was in 1986! Of course, he also points out – correctly – that this doesn’t mean anything unless they continue to play good baseball.
I am also looking forward to seeing Wright in the Home Run Derby tonight and on Letterman on Wednesday.
Enjoy the week!
Right now the mets are very well represented on the all star team!
Lo Duca, Beltran, Wright and now Reyes are in the lead for their positions.
Oh, and by the way – 11.5 games ahead of the Phillies for 1st place!
